IMPPA was represented by Sr. Vice<br \/>\nPresident Ms Sushama Shiromanee along with Executive Committee members Shri<br \/>\nNishant Ujjwal (General Secretary FMC), Shri Yusuf Shaikh, and Shri Manish Jain.<br \/>\nShri Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Chaired the summit<br \/>\nand a key highlight of the event was the plenary session on Cinema Infrastructure:<br \/>\nBuilding India&amp;#39;s screen and modern cinema infrastructure to create equitable entertainment<br \/>\naccess. Shri Abhay Sinha, addressed the challenges faced by theatres in reaching wider<br \/>\naudiences and mentioned that multiplex ticket prices, often in the range of Rs 200 to<br \/>\nRs.250, remain out of reach for low income groups, impacting theatre occupancy and<br \/>\noverall industry growth.<br \/>\nShri. Abhay Sinha requested the Government to support the exhibition sector by<br \/>\nreconsidering taxes such as TDS and GST for theatres. He also proposed the<br \/>\ndevelopment of hundred seated cinema halls at bus depots and railway stations to make<br \/>\nmovie watching more accessible.
